“Her talks are very practical and step by step so I always attend her sessions. Hers are usually the best attended, so I try to get there early because her rooms are always packed!” — Deirdre
“The first time I heard it I thought how can I do this…hearing it the second time it really clicked and helped me make the decision…” – Karen L.
Thank you for visiting my Speaker page. I personally understand the challenges of finding just the right facilitator or speaker for your event. I’ve created this information so you can get to know me a little better, and I hope it gives you an understanding of what it’s like when we work together. I’m no rookie when it comes to speaking to live audiences; encouraging others and working a crowd is something I’ve been doing for many years. Rest assured, I take a very professional approach to communicating with you, preparing for your event, and delivering presentations to your audience. I commit to going above and beyond for you and your guests, providing high quality content and current information, and making it a day for all to remember.
I facilitate workshops, deliver live or pre-recorded presentations and keynotes. I am available for interviews and panel discussions as my schedule allows. Here’s what you can expect:
EXPERIENCED & ADAPTABLE: Over the years, I’ve grown comfortable in all kinds of settings, from the largest convention centers, to community centers and churches, to classrooms and living rooms, plus live and prerecorded formats where I speak from my home office. I’m adaptable to speaking with or without a microphone, with or without equipment, and I remain flexible as the dynamic nature of live events sometimes warrant.
TARGETED PRESENTATIONS & HELP WITH PLANNING: When we enter into a discussion, I’ll ask about your organization, your audience demographics, and your needs. If there’s a specific topic you’re interested in having me talk about, that makes it easy. If not, I’ll help guide you to the topics and presentations I think may appeal to the largest number of people. If it’s in my realm of experience, I am always willing to develop a custom presentation for your event. Or, you’re welcome to choose from presentations I’ve given in the past.
COMMUNICATION & PROMOTIONAL ITEMS: Once we’ve nailed down your topics, I’ll provide workshop descriptions, a bio, promotional photos, and anything else you need for promotional literature. I remain at your service before the event, if there are other bits of information you need as the event approaches. I’ll stay in communication with you beforehand and on a regular basis, so you’ll be confident that I’m completely on board.
SOCIAL SHARING: As your presentation nears, I’ll share and publicize your event on my web site and social media outlets. I welcome comments and messages from prospective attendees, and do my best to respond as to inform your audience and increase your attendance.
EVENT DAY: On event day, I usually arrive early for your peace of mind. I begin and end sessions on time, but usually stay for a while to respond to questions I receive afterwards in other areas of the venue. Whenever possible, I try to live Tweet or share a Facebook live from your event, post on my Facebook page, and interact socially with attendees during the day. At the conclusion of your event, I share comments, photos, and reviews, using any hash tags you provide.
OTHER PARTICIPATION: When you book with me, I commit not only to the date and time of my session(s), but also to other ways you need me to participate throughout the day. I make myself available not just as a speaker, but also as a participant. If you need me for panel discussions, live Q & A, a speaker’s table, a book signing, consulting with visitors, or anything else, I commit to interacting with you and your guests throughout the entire day. Should you schedule before- or after-events, with adequate notice, I make myself available for those, too.
NO SURPRISES: I know you don’t like surprises. So, before we book, I’ll communicate any special needs I might have for your booking up front. Whether it’s travel, accommodations, bringing a guest, special equipment, table space, or anything else, I’ll let you know before we finalize our plans. These things aren’t always necessary, but if they are, you’ll have first option to discuss or decline before we commit to any booking.
In short, I work for you, and my goal is for your group to have the best experience possible when I’m there. Besides, advance planning means I get to enjoy the day with your guests, and minimize my own stress, too! Plus, since referrals are part of my business, I love it when you’re happy, because I know you’ll share that love with other organizations. If I can create a win-win, I feel as though I’ve done my job well.
